‘All The King’s Men’ is pulpy, action-packed, and deceptively complex - but its real strength lies in how well the writers’ and narrator’s ideas enmesh into one coherent and thoroughly addictive storium noir. It’s like flicking through a dog-eared dimestore crime novel.

It’s a clever and quirky veneer over a deceptively riveting story that, before I knew it, had me hungry for each next move in a ‘just one more scene’ kind of way. And - if you’re a mechanics nerd like me - this story floored me by how well it’s run. @mforrester has the kind of mastery over challenge text that some narrators dream of obtaining, and it makes me exceedingly jealous and intimidated at the same time.

Capturing the tone of Regency-era drama perfectly, Audley End is a great example of both excellent narrating and writing from all involved. It’s an ideal mix of romance, social scheming and gentle humour - Jane Austen would be proud!

The inimitable erindubitably narrates a behind-the-scenes trip through the ‘off duty’ lives of a group of superheroes. By turns humorous and touching, with some stellar writing from my fellow players, I don’t want this game to end.

An exceptionally written, ingenious tale about a group of Templar knights on a quest for a mysterious weapon near Jerusalem during the second crusades. With excellent narration, story structure, interesting thought out characters and player dynamics, plus a great mix of mysticism, horror and suspense, I believe At the Door of Heaven represents the very best of Storium.

Who knew that a popular reality TV show could be translated to text so well? The narrator and player of this series (!) have done a great job adapting the backstabbing and drama that makes the series great, with some surprise twists special to Storium. Just wait ‘til you get to the final two...

Just plain fun! Danger, comedy, action, surprises, and an ingeniously creative narrator make this game a joy to read and participate in. The cast rotates every chapter to give new crops of newbies a chance to learn the ropes. I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience in Storium.

‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ meets ‘Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell’. ‘This Rough Magic’ is set in an alternate 16th century England where the Faery Courts commune with the queen, and certain humans have the talent of logomancy - a magic based on the manipulative power of words. The writing is Shakespearean in flavour, and while there is a dark edge to the adventure, the tone is swashbuckling and full of humour!

X-Men meets X-Files. DAO is a fantastic blend of adventure where the world hangs in the balance and saved by agents that have their own powers. Meticulously crafted and ingeniously executed, the Department of Abnormal Occurrences holds a vast world where anything is possible.

Stirring and hugely entertaining. This story makes me hold my breath during the high-tension battle scenes, laugh at 22nd century duct tape and dog-alien feasts, and tear up over star-crossed romance and honor-bound sacrifice. Poignant, charming, and genuinely exciting.
